About Clay Sneed

Henry Clay Sneed is a life-long resident of 106 Kinneys Road in Springfield, Tennessee. He’s been employed his entire life in agriculture, with experience growing tobacco, dairy, livestock and row crops.

Clay served his country in the U.S. Navy.

Clay relates to the working men and women of Springfield because he is one of them. He has experience building homes from the ground up, as well as remodeling. His working days have included employment on pipelines, and in the development of a subdivision, Evans Estates, across the street from his family home.

Evans Estates, a neighborhood of single-family homes, was built on land purchased from the Evans family. The subdivision was made possible when Clay turned down an offer from Nashville developers who wanted to build apartments there. The land was formerly part of a University of Tennessee Experimental Farm used by students at the local high school in the 1920s.

Clay is also a small business owner. His company, Springfield Alarm and Safe, has offices on the courthouse square. He holds Tennessee licenses as an alarm contractor, general contractor and plumber.

Clay is a former employee of Electrolux, and he is currently employed by CSX Railroad as a conductor on freight trains and a RCO locomotive operator of freight trains.

He has been married for five years, with one 3-year-old daughter and two step-sons, ages 13 and 19.
